Document Work MLA (Learning Outcome 5)

Framing Statement: MLA is important for the organization of your paper. Page numbers, a proper header, to alphabetical citations, all these aspects of the MLA format help make your paper as well formatted as it can be. I used the MLA format in high school so there was no weird transition. While I already knew MLA, I did learn more about it this semester. I learned that when you have mentioned someone and their quote, you don’t need to cite them after the quote because you already introduced that they say it in the beginning. Using the “Little Seagull Handbook” greatly helped me when it came to grammatical errors and citation issues when working on my essay. I learned how to site by hand, and that citing is different for what resource you use. For example, an online blog post and an article from a research journal will not be cited in the same way. I hope I learn more about MLA to further improve the organization of my essays.
